Project Zariya is a registered NGO and social enterprise working to change the lives of many individuals through practical skill-building and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Since 2020, we have partnered with correctional facilities to offer hands-on training in sewing, bag-making, and textile crafts. We are more than a training initiative—we stand for karuna (compassion), dignity, and second chances. Every product created by our artisans reflects punarjanma—rebirth—showcasing hope, resilience, and the impact of meaningful work. Our mission is simple: to help men and women leaving prison return to society not with stigma, but with skills… not with fear, but with confidence… and not as outcasts, but as empowered, financially independent citizens.
A second chance. A new beginning.
To empower these individuals through complete skill training and livelihood support so they can rebuild their lives with dignity, achieve financial stability, and reintegrate into society as confident, contributing citizens. Our ecosystem includes professional training, post-release guidance, market connections, and long-term mentorship.
Craftsmanship born from resilience
In 2020, Radhika Somani saw a clear truth: many individuals leave correctional facilities without the skills or support needed to start over. Inspired by the spirit of seva (selfless service) and guided by empathy, she founded Project Zariya to offer a real zariya—a means—to rebuild lives. What started as a small initiative has now grown into a complete program that supports individuals through training during incarceration and entrepreneurship opportunities after release.
Sustainably made. Ethically crafted.
Every product represents transformation and hope—valued for its quality, not sympathy. Our artisans create beautifully made bags and textiles that customers appreciate and use with pride.
Every product carries a story of hope, resilience, and second chances. When you choose Zariya, you are not just buying a product—you are supporting dignified livelihoods and real change.
